Today’s Order of Worship

“Multiplied”
Your love is like radiant diamonds
Bursting inside us we cannot contain
Your love will surely come find us
Like blazing wildfires singing Your name

God of mercy sweet love of mine
I have surrendered to Your design
May this offering stretch across the skies
These Hallelujahs be multiplied

Your love is like radiant diamonds
Bursting inside us we cannot contain
Your love will surely come find us
Like blazing wildfires singing Your name

God of mercy sweet love of mine
I have surrendered to Your design
May this offering stretch across the skies
These Hallelujahs be multiplied

God of mercy sweet love of mine
I have surrendered to Your design
May this offering stretch across the skies
These Hallelujahs be multiplied

God of mercy sweet love of mine
I have surrendered to Your design
May this offering stretch across the skies
These Hallelujahs be multiplied

These Hallelujahs be multiplied

“My Hope is Built”
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

When Darkness veils his lovely face
I rest on his unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

His oath, his covenant, his blood
Supports me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

When he shall come with trumpet sound
O may I then in him be found
Dressed in his righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

“Build My Life”
Worthy of every song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, oh, we live for You

Jesus, the name above every other name
Jesus, the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, we live for You

Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder and
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

Jesus, the name above every other name
Jesus, the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, oh, we live for You

Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder and
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

And I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in You alone and I will not be shaken

And I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in You alone and I will not be shaken

Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder and
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me

Worthy of every song we could ever sing
We live for You, oh, we live for You

Psalm 118:1-4
Give thanks to the Lord because he is good,
because his faithful love lasts forever.
2 Let Israel say it:
“God’s faithful love lasts forever!”
3 Let the house of Aaron say it:
“God’s faithful love lasts forever!”
4 Let those who honor the Lord say it:
“God’s faithful love lasts forever!”

“Reckless Love”
Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah
When I was Your foe, still Your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me
You have been so, so kind to me

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
And I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah

Acts 1:1-8 (CEB)

Theophilus, the first scroll I wrote concerned everything Jesus did and taught from the beginning, 2 right up to the day when he was taken up into heaven. Before he was taken up, working in the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus instructed the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he showed them that he was alive with many convincing proofs. He appeared to them over a period of forty days, speaking to them about God’s kingdom. 4 While they were eating together, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for what the Father had promised. He said, “This is what you heard from me: 5 John baptized with water, but in only a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

6 As a result, those who had gathered together asked Jesus, “Lord, are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now?

7 Jesus replied, “It isn’t for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has set by his own authority. 8 Rather, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Reader: This is the Word of God for us, the People of God.

“Heart Won’t Stop”
There is not a man or beast
Nothing on the land or underneath
Oh nothing that could ever come between
The love You have for me

I could lay my head in Sheol
I could make my bed
At the bottom of the darkness deep
Oh but there is not a place I could escape You

Your heart won’t stop, coming after me
Your heart won’t stop, coming after me
Your heart won’t stop, coming after
Coming after me

There is not an angel of the stars
There is not a devil in the dark
Oh nothing that could change the way You are
The love You have for me

I could lay my head in Sheol
I could make my bed
At the bottom of darkness deep
Oh but there is not a place I could escape You

Your heart won’t stop, coming after me
Your heart won’t stop, coming after me
Your heart won’t stop, coming after
Coming after me

I could lay my head; in Sheol
And I could make my bed
At the bottom of the darkness deep
Oh but there is not a place I could escape You

Your heart won’t stop, coming after me
Your heart won’t stop, coming after me
Your heart won’t stop, coming after
Coming after me

Jesus calls his followers to live generously, using whatever we have to be a blessing to others. So we take a moment during worship to celebrate ways we see God working through acts of generosity that are making an impact here at Kindred and beyond.

Why we do Communion:
Dinner parties and shared meals were central to Jesus’ ministry. In fact, Jesus instructed his followers to make a habit of hosting the kind of meals he had shared with them, promising that he would continue to be present with them as they did. So every time we share this family meal called “Communion,” we encounter Jesus together and are nourished by his love in a real, tangible way.

How we do Communion:
Following the tradition that originated with Jesus himself, we celebrate Communion by prayerfully remembering all that God has and continues to do for us. We then bless the bread that we’ll eat and the “wine” (we use non-alcoholic grape juice at Kindred) that we’ll drink. But before we finally eat and drink, we pray aloud the prayer Jesus taught his very first disciples, called the Lord’s Prayer (words below). Then we eat and drink, trusting (or at least trying to trust) that God is present and nourishing us physically and spiritually.

All are welcome:
Regardless of your age, denominational affiliation, spiritual (or not so spiritual) background, you are invited to share Communion with us. ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good!’ (Psalm 34:8)

Our Father, in heaven, Hallowed be your Name.
Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

“Rest On Us”
Like the Spirit was moving over the waters
Spirit, come move over us
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

And fire and wind, would You do it again?
Open up the gates, let heaven on in
Would You rest on us?
Come rest on us

Come down
Spirit, when You move You make my heart pound
When You fill the room
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

Like the Spirit was moving over the waters
Spirit, come move over us
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

And fire and wind, would You do it again?
Open up the gates, let heaven on in
Would You rest on us?
Come rest on us

Come down
Spirit, when You move You make my heart pound
When You fill the room
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

Come down
Spirit, when You move You make my heart pound
When You fill the room
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

It’s what we love about You
It’s that’s there’s always more
It’s what we love about You
It’s that’s there’s always more

It’s what we love about You
It’s that’s there’s always more
It’s what we love about You
It’s that’s there’s always more

Come down
Spirit, when You move You make my heart pound
When You fill the room
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

Come down
Spirit, when You move You make my heart pound
When You fill the room
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

Like the Spirit was moving over the waters
Spirit, come move over us
Come rest on us
Come rest on us

You’ll find this week’s announcements in our weekly newsletter linked via the button below.

At the end of each worship service we’re given a blessing. We’re also reminded that as we go back into the world we’re called to reflect the love of God in all that we do.
